Worst he's done thus far is fire his slingshot at a pirate, but he didn't kill em. Aside from that though he's always looking at none violent ways of getting around things.

Based on a convo that I had with a friend haha.

I've always seen anger as a very useful emotion, something keeps you safe. When in excess it can be negative, but otherwise it's just a feeling that tells you, "Hey, this is unfair." or "Hey, I don't like this."

My friend is kind of rediscovering allowing herself to be angry at things, and so she's just kinda taken to telling me when she's angry. I on the other hand, am very rarely angry. So I just kinda like the emotion, I find it refreshing to be angry.

Being angry can make you feel really empowered.

The thing that really jumped out to me about Transformers One was how relevant Megatron and his "burn it down" view is in the current day

I see it so often, young (often leftist and/or communist) people who declare that the only solution is the destruction, at best not thinking about the innocents who will disproportionately suffer from it, and at worst deliberately ignoring the suffering, or worse declaring the death and suffering to be "acceptable losses"

(Spoilers under the cut)

And we see this in the film, Megatron has won, Sentinel Prime is beaten, injured, has been exposed as a fraud, and lost any support he had, but it's not enough for the newly christened Megatron, the only thing satisfactory to him is total, unnecessary destruction, he brutally kills Sentinel (there's something there to be said about revolutionaries declaring themselves judge, jury, and executioner), Murders Orion in the proccess, and has the proto-Decepticons start indiscriminately firing in order to "burn it all down", endangering the lives of other bots-including his fellow miners!-in the process

But this is fine to Megatron, because to him the goal makes it ok, "the ends justify the means"

But "the ends justify the means" always leads to a dark place, and that is what "burn it all down" is at the core, the willingness to sacrifice so many innocent people for a hypothetical

But there's another way Megatron feels very similar to the "burn it all down, damn the collateral" crowd

The way both deem those who prefer reform over destruction to be a traitors or just, if not worse, than what came before, real life "burn it down" types tend to hate reformists and realists (ie normie libs) more than the fascists and racists

And lastly, there is the Tyranny

We all know Megatron's story, what he will becone, a Warmonger, genocidal towards non Cybertronian-especially organic life (who wants to bet in the sequel Megatron's solution for dealing with the Quintessons is to Slaughter them to the last?), a mass murderer, destroyer of worlds, and above all, a Tyrant

That is where his revolution leads (oh hello russian/french revolution and civil war/napoleonic wars, I didn't see you there), because Megatron sees violence as the only answer, violence will be his only answer, violence is what keeps his followers in line (Starscream), and if he successfully comes out on top of the coming war with the Autobots, violence will be the only means he'll remain on top, because that's the only reason he's there in the first place

The "revolution, burn it down" types of the real world already have a nasty pro authoritarianism streak, between their dictator worship and belief that they know best and everyone who disagrees needs to shut up/is a traitor and must die (but leftistly), why would that change if they get their wish of violently burning it all down?

Rewatched Bless you, Hawkeye and honestly, i don't think Alan Alda's sneeze acting is that bad- imo some are exaggerating their critiques

And I was going to put this in the tags but I feel brave today, but I get really irked sometimes with people saying his falling apart after Billy pushed him was overdramatic and comes off as humorous instead- i think people just get uncomfortable because loud and raw weeping like that is uncomfortable to look at and when people are uncomfortable, they sometimes laugh to break up how awkward they feel.

Yeah, Hawkeye was crying like a little kid in that scene. Because when he was a little kid, someone that he looked up to probably more than anyone- someone that he might have thought was his best friend- pushed him into a pond and let him sink before fishing him out; to top it all off, Billy made it seem like it was his fault for "falling in", and all Hawkeye said he could do in response was "thank him". And he kept that bottled up for years and years, never letting the truth surface, until he was subconsciously reminded of what happened and it demanded to be reckoned with.

i really wish that regulus was a gorey Beauty in decay and death and flesh and meat person like i am because i want to project my entire self onto him but unfortunately i think regulus is very disconnected from violence in any sort of positive way due to his upbringing and his relationship w his personal dissociation towards his own self ……. i think he would enjoy tragic literature and like falling on your knife atop of your dead lovers corpse and such and perhaps more poetic descriptions of cannibalism and such as metaphors but only as METAPHORS . the more detail there is the less interested he is. which is partially why i think jegulus is perhaps the best endgame 4 him bc james is so removed from the traditional concepts of violence he has been raised around and surrounded by w his friends and such . i think he would enjoy spending time w his closest friends but ultimately find their freak(tm) overwhelming on most occasions . so i think being around jfp who jumps at really horrendous horror movie sfx like pffffft im not scared hahaha but do You want to watch something else maybe? is really healing for him . he’s got a space seperate from it all. which is partially why i think jegulus is a fairly Normal and Adjusted couple by my circle of the marauders’ fandoms standards . like there is no sexualized surgery or murder or blood draining or whatever . the most that occurs is token maso/sadist dynamics which are softer in nature w heavy aftercare and the encouragement of james’ jealousy because regulus enjoys the idea of being someone’s Number one who they want to own ….. regulus likes being james little doll boyfriend (tm) not out of like sexual urge to be used but because james takes CARE of him!!! he’s brushing his hair and putting him in the prettiest clothes and having little tea parties and reading him pages from a classic as regulus takes a shower . he’s never been treated so softly before that he kinda leans into it w james bc he knows james still views him as his own person : something regulus has rarely been viewed as by others . in many other relationships i feel as if their sexual freak behavior bleeds into all aspects of their lives but w jegulus i feel it is very Separate and that is a good thing . bc regulus deserves d/s daddy roleplay as much as he deserves laughing at the way his bf is struggling to peel his shirt off over his glasses and james blowing raspberries against his lower stomach …..

ok so im currently rewatching nimona in the hindi dub (thank you @sir-ballister-boldheart-boldheart for the link! everyone should check out their great posts about it too btw)

and right of off the bat, im kinda obsessed with this line change:

in the OG, Nimonas quip/joke is "The one armed club is about to get some new members"

but in the Hindi dub its changed to "Agar inmisay kisi ka basu pasand ai toh bata'dayna" (sorry if my hinglish isnt the best i dont do this kinda thing often XO)

(which translates to: "if you find a liking to any of these arms tell me")

which is not only equally as hilarious but also soso cute cause the implication shes ready to chop of any arm he wants as a fucked up kinda karma/compensation or as a replacement is just, so good. violent and in character but also establishes a side of care for him early on which is really cool.
